Electronic Measurements, Inc. Acquired By Siebe Power Controls:

Neptune, N.J. (July 7th 1998) - Electronic Measurements Inc. (EMI) has been acquired by Siebe Power Controls, a division of Siebe PLC, the parent company of Lambda Electronics, Inc.. The combination of Siebe Power Controls and EMI (which includes the ALE high-voltage product line) has been renamed Lambda Americas Inc., will operate as a separate entity within the Lambda organization in North America.

Joshua A. Hauser, president of Siebe Power Controls and Lambda Electronics, said "EMI's product line in industrial power supplies will be completely complementary to Lambda's product offerings." "Lambda, its customers and employees will benefit from this combination,"; Hauser noted. "EMI's research and development efforts in the high-power programmable segment and high-voltage products will bring important capabilities to Lambda."

"EMI adds to the Lambda North America organizations product portfolio by expanding the range of solutions available to customers," Hauser Added. "For example, EMI recently introduced a new line of microprocessor-controlled power supplies which allows customers greater flexibility in controlling the power supply's output characteristics."

EMI will benefit by Lambda's marketing reach, particularly in the Far East and Europe, and from the benefits of joining a large group. Existing management at EMI will remain. Gerald Posner, General Manager and VP Operations, will report to Daniel Pujol, Senior Vice President of Lambda North America.

EMI, headquartered in Neptune, N.J., is a designer and manufacturer of industrial power supplies used in semiconductor equipment, medical equipment and general industrial (burn-in and test) applications. Its products in high-power programmable power supplies (600 watts to 90 kilowatts) are currently sold under the EMI brand, while its high-power high-voltage products (up to 50,000 volts) carry the ALE brand.
